As a Technical Purchaser, you will be responsible for ensuring that the right materials, components, and subcontracting services are purchased on time, at the right price, and in accordance with correct technical specifications.

The role requires both business acumen and technical understanding, as well as close collaboration with customer service, production, engineering, and suppliers. The role also includes forecast management.

Key Responsibilities

Operational and Tactical Purchasing

• Purchasing of semi-finished goods, raw materials, and finished articles/subcontracting, in line with customer needs and forecasts.
• Ensuring that materials are available according to customer requirements and internal deadlines.
• Maintaining correct inventory levels and actively working to reduce inventory values where possible.

Forecast and Order Management

• Receive forecasts from Customer Service (CS), analyze which articles require purchasing, and provide feedback on quantities and lead times – according to established processes.
• Handle deviations, obsolete articles, and updates in dialogue with customers and suppliers.

Supplier Relations & Negotiation

• Evaluate, compare, and follow up on suppliers based on quality, price, delivery reliability, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with strategically important suppliers.
• Ensure that there are at least two suppliers per material group where possible.
• Conduct negotiations and participate in contract work.

Technical Specification & Quality

• Read and interpret drawings and technical requirements.
• Ensure that all technical data in templates is correct.

Continuous Improvement

• Work cross-functionally on improvements to purchasing and material flows.
• Contribute to the development of digital tools and more automated purchasing processes.
• Contribute to the efficiency of supplier collaborations and follow-up.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education

• Post-secondary education in purchasing, engineering, logistics, or equivalent.
• Further education is an asset, e.g.:
• Negotiation techniques
• Purchasing economics
• Logistics certification
• Excel for purchasers/logisticians

Experience

• Experience in technical purchasing within the manufacturing industry.
• Experience working with forecasts, calculations, and supplier negotiations.
• Accustomed to handling both semi-finished goods and subcontracted manufacturing (services).
• Ability to read technical drawings.

• Good technical understanding; ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical skills – ability to identify cost drivers and optimize purchasing.
