About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you can make a real difference for both society and the energy transition? With us, you are part of a socially vital operation with exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and colleagues who value one another.
We are now looking for you to take a key role in shaping the future of maintenance operations as Department Manager for Northern Stations.
We are facing one of Vattenfall Eldistribution's largest initiatives ever – a historic effort to build a stronger, more resilient, and fully independent capability in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. In a time when the external environment demands increasing robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to secure a grid that withstands difficult conditions and delivers when needed most. As Department Manager, you are a key figure in this development.
Responsibilities and Duties
As Department Manager for Northern Stations, you are a key figure in this development, leading a growing department of approximately 60 employees and four experienced managers who report directly to you. Together, you will build an organization characterized by engagement, security, and pride, where safety is always our guiding star – in a hazardous environment, we look out for each other and create security together.
This is a mission for you who want to combine strategic leadership with proximity to daily operational activities. In the near future, much will be about building the team – creating structure, direction, and common working methods that strengthen both capacity and competence. You work solution-focused and drive the development of our processes, working methods, and practical execution, always with safety and quality in focus.
In this role, you are responsible for, among other things:
- Leading, coaching, and developing your management team, ensuring the organization has the right capabilities and competence over time, and being active in the unit's management group.
- Driving the development of work processes, execution, and working methods with a focus on improvements, efficiency, and safe operation of our facilities.
- Being responsible for budget, forecasting, and follow-up.
- Ensuring good communication and collaboration both internally and externally.
- Contributing to a high standard in facility maintenance and establishing robust routines for safety and quality.
The role is central to our continued build-up of an independent maintenance capability, where you drive development through participation, clear direction, and a strong focus on collaboration.
Requirements
We place great importance on your personal attributes and are looking for a secure, communicative, and development-oriented leader who creates engagement, direction, and collaboration through others. You have experience leading teams in operationally complex businesses and are accustomed to building working methods, structure, and culture in organizations that are growing and changing.
We are looking for you who have experience in:
- Driving improvement work and developing working methods and culture.
- Working structured with planning, budgeting, and follow-up.
- Creating trust, security, and clarity in change processes.
- Building strong teams and leading through participation.
We expect you to have an academic education and/or several years of experience in a leading position with responsibility for personnel and operations. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English and hold a B driver's license as business travel is required. Leadership experience and the ability to develop both individuals and the business are considered assets.
