For several years, we at Toyota in Mjölby have been developing advanced complete lithium-ion battery systems for our forklifts. The technological leap in lithium-ion batteries has opened up new possibilities for us to offer our customers, among other things, higher efficiency and lower environmental impact. To the Energy Systems group within R&D, we are now looking for an experienced designer to coordinate and manage technical development in our ongoing battery projects.

As a Designer with Technical Leadership at Toyota, you will work with:

  • Ensuring that product goals and product requirements are met
  • Coordination between project management and designers
  • Planning and follow-up of design tasks
  • Article portfolio and article management

As a Designer with Technical Leadership, you will serve as a link between project management and designers. You will break down overall planning activities into design tasks and follow up to ensure these tasks are delivered on time and in the right way. You will support your surroundings with prioritization issues, communicate obstacles/risks, and drive and follow up on technical work. Our battery projects often affect the entire or large parts of the forklift range. You will coordinate the total article portfolio in ongoing battery projects and show the way towards coordination effects to minimize variants/article numbers, etc. You are responsible for ensuring that article structures and design and production documentation are developed in the right way.

Your Profile

You are likely a Bachelor's or Master's degree engineer in Mechanical Engineering or similar, preferably with several years of experience in design work and product development within electronics and/or mechanics. To succeed in the job, you are/have;

  • High analytical and organizational ability
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Structured and meticulous
  • Taking responsibility
  • Knowledge in CAD, we work in Catia V5
  • Easy to get an overview and can maintain both short-term and long-term perspectives simultaneously.
