About the Role

We are currently seeking a Designer/Engineer for our technical department in Linköping, with a specific focus on production preparation.

This is a broad role where you will work with both 2D and 3D design while simultaneously ensuring that our products and components are optimally adapted for production. You will become a vital link between design, production, and other functions within the organization.

The department consists of three designers who work closely together and share much of the responsibility. While everyone works on design, product development, and production-related technology, this role has a clearer focus on production preparation, item structure, and manufacturability.

This means that you will not only design a solution but also ensure how it will be manufactured, what equipment is required, how it should be packaged, and what the actual production cost will be.

Your Responsibilities

The role is broad and combines design, production technology, and preparation:

  • Create and update drawing documentation in Autodesk Inventor (3D) and AutoCAD (2D)

  • Prepare items for production and structure data in the M3 business system

  • Work with item structure, changes, and technical documentation

  • Ensure manufacturability (DFM) and cost-conscious design

  • Work closely with production regarding tools, fixtures, and production equipment

  • Participate in improvement and industrialization projects

  • Support production, supply chain, quality, lab, and sales on technical issues

  • Contribute to verifications, tests, and practical evaluations in production

  • Take partial project responsibility in the development and customer projects you are involved in

You will also work closely with production, where an important part is to go out to the factory yourself, ask questions, and understand the reality behind the drawing.

Who Are You?

We believe you are a designer who thrives in the boundary between the drafting table and production.

You enjoy understanding how things are actually manufactured and have a natural interest in how design affects cost, quality, and production efficiency.

You are structured, unpretentious, and solution-oriented – and you thrive in a role where you have significant personal responsibility but also work closely with others.

We prefer that you have:

  • An engineering degree in mechanical engineering or similar

  • Experience with mechanical design and drafting

  • Good knowledge of CAD (preferably Inventor and/or AutoCAD)

  • Understanding of manufacturing methods within mechanics/sheet metal

  • Experience with technical documentation and change management (PDM/PLM)

  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably M3, but IFS, Monitor, or similar also works)

  • Swedish and English in speech and writing

Merits:

  • Experience in production preparation or industrialization

  • Experience with tools, fixtures, or production equipment

  • Knowledge in DFM, FMEA, or quality work

  • Experience from the manufacturing industry with broad technical roles

  • Experience in new product development

Why Work With Us?

With us, you get a role where design and production meet in reality – and where your work has a direct impact in the factory.

You will become part of a smaller, tightly knit technical team with short decision-making paths and close collaboration between functions.

Here is what we offer:

  • A very broad and varied technical role

  • Closer contact with production and fast feedback loops

  • The opportunity to influence both products and working methods

  • Significant personal responsibility in a developing business

  • An experienced and helpful team where everyone supports each other

This is a role for you who want the whole picture – from design to actual manufacturing.
