About Us

We offer a unique combination of schooling and treatment, where education is integrated with skills training and therapy. Our operations are characterized by a humble collaboration between different professions. In addition to teachers, we employ social and therapeutic pedagogues, social workers, and family therapists who, together with the school staff, support students in their development. The school is aimed at young people in grades 6–9 with extensive needs for special support. The students we meet often have social, psychosocial, or neuropsychiatric difficulties and frequently have a long history of school absenteeism. To help these young people achieve a functional school experience, we work with small-scale operations, high staff density, enhanced social support for students, and individually tailored arrangements based on each student's prerequisites and needs. We have a systemic and salutogenic approach where the focus is on working with the whole and building on what works. Our goal is to provide an environment where every student has a chance to succeed based on their own conditions.

About the Position

As a teacher at Magelungen Resource School, you will work in an environment that offers both schooling and treatment, where education is integrated with skills training and therapy. We offer a smaller, more intimate setting in a fully adapted learning environment. An important part of our daily work is to strengthen young people by focusing on their resources and competence to work together towards their own goals. You will work in close collaboration with school leadership, licensed teachers, student health services, and treatment coordinators (social workers and behavioral scientists) by starting from the students' competencies, strengths, and resources, and utilizing these to practice on what is difficult.

Your Role With Us

As a teacher at Magelungen, you will become a key figure in a holistic effort that combines teaching, relationships, and change work. You will teach in a smaller group where students' individual strengths form the starting point for planning and learning. Mentoring is a central part of your assignment and the school's structure.

Your responsibilities include:

  • creating teaching that combines knowledge, structure, and relationships.
  • collaborating closely with colleagues in an interdisciplinary team.
  • contributing to systematic development work with a focus on differentiated instruction, reading, and conceptual understanding.
  • being part of an environment where trust, warmth, and perseverance are central tools.

In short – you will do pedagogical work that truly makes a difference.

We Are Looking For You Who

  • is a licensed teacher with qualification for grades 7–9 in Social Studies (SO).
  • has experience of, or a strong interest in, students with extensive support needs.
  • views the relationship as your primary pedagogical tool.
  • combines structure with creativity and maintains calm even when daily life challenges you.
  • is attracted to working in a non-profit, employee-owned organization where research and reflection are a natural part.
  • Experience in special education is an asset.

Employment Type

The position is a permanent full-time or part-time role depending on your subject qualification. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
