Prolympia Östersund is an independent primary school with a focus on sports and health, located in the Norr district of central Östersund. The school started its operations in 2004 and currently has 466 students and 55 employees. At our school, students receive a secure educational experience with a focus on sports, health, and outdoor activities. This means they have more sports and health classes on their schedule and more outdoor days with overnight stays compared to a traditional school.

About You

Prolympia in Östersund is currently seeking a teacher for grades 1–3. You will serve as a class teacher at the lower secondary level and play a central role in the children's learning and development. Being a teacher is an important mission, and to give our students the best possible conditions to develop, we are looking for the right people for our school!

We are looking for someone who has high expectations for our students' knowledge and values. You are a driven person with a positive attitude who shares our values and fundamental view of sports as a tool to create good health and excellent academic results. You also have good communication skills, are clear in your leadership, and find collaboration easy. In your daily work, you have the ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues alike. You work with an inclusive approach, actively focusing on student influence, pedagogical planning, and formative assessment.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include teaching theoretical subjects in grades 1–3, along with the associated planning and assessment. As a teacher at Prolympia, you plan your teaching independently but also cross-subject together with colleagues. In your assessment, you document students' progress and work with formative assessment. As a teacher, you also contribute to making the daily routine work for the students, which may include pedagogical lunch, recess supervision, and homework help. The expectations for the assignment follow the Swedish National Agency for Education's regulations and general advice. Mentoring a class is included in the position. You will be part of a team together with experienced and driven colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teacher education for grades 1–3. However, those with other suitable competence and experience for the assignment are also welcome to apply. Furthermore, you must have good IT skills and be accustomed to using digital tools in your daily work.

The position is full-time with a 6-month probationary period. Employment requires an extract from the criminal register regarding work in schools and preschools, which must be less than one year old.
