As a personal assistant to a young woman at an early developmental level with multiple disabilities, you enable her to live an independent life. Are you curious, attentive, able to work independently, and good at adapting to different situations and people? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for!

Cooperative EMIL is now seeking female personal assistants for a young woman with mental and physical developmental disabilities living in central Eskilstuna. She is at a very early developmental level and needs help with almost everything in her daily life. We are currently looking for assistants for two smaller positions and possible hourly employment.

Job Responsibilities

Assistance includes, among other things, nursing with complete personal hygiene, medication, and help with meals via mouth and PEG. You plan and carry out activities such as listening to music, singing, reading fairy tales, and doing crafts together with our member. The work involves solo work and some double staffing during activities. The starting point is the woman's home, but it can also be at a daily activity center.

You will perform certain physiotherapy exercises according to a program, and one day a week you will go to therapeutic swimming in the care of the Rehabilitation Center. You will also accompany her to leisure activities such as Para-sports.

Who are you?

As a person, you should have drive and be able to function as the young woman's "engine," meaning taking initiative, independently planning and carrying out activities in everyday life. You must be able to act independently but also follow given instructions on how the work should be performed. Planning sometimes also takes place with parents/guardians and other important people surrounding the woman.

You must be able to represent our member in situations that arise in daily life. Therefore, you must have a good command of the Swedish language. You can work both independently and in a group. You are good at building relationships and are trustworthy. As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, attentive, unpretentious, and adaptable in meeting others. Based on our member's wishes and needs, we are only seeking female assistants who are non-smokers. You should not be allergic to chlorine and must be able to swim, as pool training is included.

You who are applying for this position should have the following qualifications:

• Female
• High school diploma
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• Non-smoker

If your education is focused on care and welfare, pedagogy, or behavioral science, this is a great advantage for the position. It is meritorious if you have previous experience working as a personal assistant and if you have experience working with people at an early developmental level with multiple disabilities.

Upon employment, an extract from the criminal record register will be requested.
