About the workplace
The Social Services Authority IFO is a small unit with close proximity to collaboration partners and decision-makers, where you have great opportunities to influence and carry out development work. We are a work group with great commitment and a strong driving force. Within the unit, there are the reception unit, investigation unit, and foster care unit. There is also close cooperation with the adult unit, LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and the municipality's own outpatient care. You have support in your work through good collegial support and close management support. We have a balanced workload and can offer a workplace where there is time and space to work with the social services' entire processes together with colleagues and collaboration partners.
Our workplace is currently located in the old town hall Skänkelund in central Vaggeryd, a stone's throw from the station. There are good commuting options with both bus and train, as well as access to parking for those who drive.
We want to contribute to people's opportunities for positive changes. Our work is based on respect for the individual's self-determination and integrity, legal security, and creative solutions.
Your tasks
The tasks involve handling cases concerning both children and adults. In the reception unit, assessments of children's situations are made, we conduct preliminary assessments, and make decisions on whether to initiate an investigation or not. You receive and register incoming information from the individual, collaboration partners, professional actors, and/or the public. The legislation that the work is based on includes SoL (Social Services Act), LVU (Care of Young Persons Act), LUL (Act on Coercive Measures in Care of Young Persons), and LVM (Act on Coercive Care).
As a reception secretary, you provide advice and support to citizens. You assist professional actors and collaboration partners with information and advice. You need to be good at building relationships and collaborating since collaboration, both internally and externally, is an important part of the assignment. The reception unit regularly participates in information sessions for other professional groups or the public. You need good knowledge of how society and social services function to be able to provide adequate information and guide citizens in societal issues.
In the reception unit, authority work is combined with social work, also outside the office environment.

You have knowledge and experience of social work and authority practice within all target groups described above, as well as experience in handling cases in accordance with BBIC (Barns behov i centrum). The tasks also require a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. Documentation is done in the business system Combine. Since travel is part of the job, a B-class driver's license is required.
You also need good knowledge of the legislation concerning the operational areas. Since the work can quickly need to be adjusted, you need to enjoy varied work and have a good ability to quickly change your planning and make new priorities.
