Housing Consultant - Summer Substitute

Your New Job

At the Housing Unit, we provide support to families and individuals who cannot secure housing on their own. Based on individual needs, we provide support and supervision in housing. Housing is offered through sublease agreements with supplementary contracts in various types of accommodations. Working as a housing consultant means you will be the contact person for a number of tenants. You will visit individuals in their homes to provide various forms of support in their housing situation. This may involve giving advice and support regarding maintenance, motivating for support measures, or liaising with various authorities. The Housing Unit also acts as a landlord, and in your role, you will be mobile and out in the field for most of the day. As a housing consultant, you will collaborate with the tenant's other contacts, which places great importance on your ability to work in a team. Since you will have a lot of communication and a broad network, you must have a good command of Swedish, both spoken and written. The Housing Unit covers the entire municipality as its work area.

Working hours are Monday to Friday with day and evening shifts, as well as some Saturdays each month.

A driver's license is a requirement for the position.

Your Qualifications

You who are applying have ongoing or completed post-secondary education in social work or behavioral science, and it is advantageous if you have previous experience in social work and MI.

Furthermore, we expect you to take initiative, start activities, and achieve results while having a holistic view and understanding of the significance of your professional role for the organization.

Welcome to Us

The Housing Unit rents out apartments in sublease through so-called "social housing contracts" to individuals who cannot secure their own primary lease. As a Housing Consultant, your task is to work towards the tenant being able to obtain their own primary lease. This can happen either by the tenant taking over the contract or by finding their own accommodation. The target group for the service consists of individuals who come into contact with social services and have received an assessed assistance measure in the form of housing. Individuals currently come from various sections within social services; financial assistance, substance abuse, disability care, children, and youth. Your role as a Housing Consultant is to support the tenant in this process and to conduct ongoing follow-ups in the tenant's home.

The Housing Unit is placed within Social Services under the Adult and Family Care area. We are 11 Housing Consultants, 1 administrator, 2 operations technicians, and 1 coordinator.

Good to Know

We are looking for two (4) summer substitutes for our operations. The start and end of your summer substitute position will be agreed upon with the recruiting manager. Interviews and selections will be ongoing.

You who are applying must be able to work at least 8 consecutive weeks with us during the entire summer period (weeks 25-34), and we will prioritize applicants who can commit to this. A B driver's license is a requirement, and you should be able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
