About the role of Relative Consultant

As a Relative Consultant, you will become a key person in creating security and good conditions for relatives who care for or support a loved one. You are responsible for ensuring that the support in the municipality is equitable, accessible, and preventive for all relatives – regardless of age or life situation.

The role is both practical and strategic. You will work operationally with counseling, supportive conversations, and early identification of needs, while also driving development, coordination, collaboration, and method development within relative support.

You will work closely with both internal and external actors and contribute to ensuring that relatives receive early support, reduced risk of ill health, and good quality in care. Your mission is to create interventions that prevent overload and strengthen the health and sustainability of relatives over time.

Your tasks

You will among other things:

  • Coordinate, develop, and ensure the quality of the municipality's relative support.
  • Work preventively to identify needs early among both relatives and loved ones.
  • Provide advice, support, and guidance.
  • Organize and lead groups, training, workshops, and digital activities.
  • Build networks and collaborate with health centers, regions, civil society, schools, and internal operations.
  • Educate and support staff and contribute to competence development in the organization.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and implement legislation, research, and guidelines in practice.
  • Digitize and develop the municipality's information, including building a website for relative support.
  • Work consultatively and contribute to a good reception and a cohesive structure for relative support.

Who are you?

To succeed in the role of Relative Consultant, it is important that you:

  • Have a behavioral science or other relevant higher education equivalent to a bachelor's degree (180 credits).
  • Have experience of working with individual support from social services, healthcare, or care.
  • Have good knowledge of preventive work.
  • Enjoy working in a smaller team where collaboration and team spirit are important.
  • Have a B driver's license.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and we believe that you who apply are:

  • Empathetic and responsive – you meet people in vulnerable situations and need to create security and trust.
  • Communicative and pedagogical – used to informing, lecturing, and expressing yourself clearly in speech and writing.
  • Structured and independent – you plan, lead, and prioritize your work on your own.
  • Collaborative – you create relationships and networks, both internally and externally.
  • Development-oriented and creative – you drive projects and development initiatives, are innovative, and see opportunities in digital working methods.
