Summer Job as a Personal Assistant for a Young Woman with ALS in Jönköping

Do you want a summer job where you really make a difference – every day? We are now looking for three to four personal assistants who can work throughout the summer for our client, a young woman with ALS living in Jönköping. The work mainly consists of day and evening shifts, but night shifts are also included.

The client lives in a villa with her husband and leads a life characterized by closeness, calm, and a focus on cherishing the small treasures of everyday life. She has had an active life filled with travel and adventures, and although her body now imposes limitations, her will, joy, and strength remain. As a personal assistant, you will be an important part of helping her continue to live her way and maintain her freedom in everyday life.

The job involves being close to her throughout the day and supporting her with personal care, medication, and practical tasks in the home. Since she controls her assistance herself, you need to be adaptable, secure, and empathetic, with a good ability to read situations and understand when to step forward and when to give space. You will be her extended arms and legs, but also a companion who contributes to calm, warmth, and a good atmosphere in the home.

We are looking for someone who is stable, caring, and has a calm demeanor towards people. You need to be able to create a sense of security easily, be flexible, and adapt to a pace different from your own. Since the client is a young woman, we prefer female applicants. There is a dog in the home, which means you must be able to work in an environment with pets. Experience in care or knowledge of PEG, ventilators, and cough machines is an advantage but not a requirement – personal chemistry and your ability to connect with her are the most important.

Before the summer, you will receive an introduction and shadowing with an experienced colleague so that you feel secure in the role. We offer a stable summer employment, meaningful work, and the opportunity to continue working as a substitute after the summer if you wish.
