Your New Job

As a health coach, you will work across all health dimensions: physical, mental, social, and existential. Research shows that good health increases the chances of being able to work and study, as well as improving leisure time. Join us for activities like More to Life, MI (Motivational Interviewing), and BIP (Employment Indicator Project), which are examples of the tools/services already available at the Employment Market Department (AMA).

You will work closely with colleagues at AMA. Since the activity requirement is an evolution of AMA's current mission, we will work flexibly and solution-focused to create interventions and working methods that benefit participants. We will build upon the broad and qualitative platform that our current health coach has established.

As a health coach, you will collaborate with the Region, Health Center, associations, and civil society. Together with the participant and coordinator/work consultant, needs will be identified, planning will be laid out, and roles and responsibilities will be clarified. If necessary, interpreters will be used, and some group activities will be conducted by speakers in the participants' native languages. In addition to health interventions, participants will have parallel interventions such as labor market knowledge, language development, and workplace-based activities.

You should enjoy working both individually and being responsible for and coordinating group activities. Documentation and follow-up of interventions will be ongoing in digital support systems.

You are responsible for creating a safe environment where participants thrive and develop. You coach both individuals and groups and contribute to participants developing their abilities for the next step in life – work or studies.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree, for example as a health educator, leisure educator, or other relevant education in wellness/health knowledge. You should have experience meeting people from other countries and cultures. It is an advantage if you have experience working with individuals with mental health issues. In personal meetings and for documentation, you need good knowledge of the Swedish language.

It is meritorious if you have knowledge of labor market and welfare systems and have experience with MI and BIP. To thrive in the role, you need to be able to work solution-focused, creatively, and independently. A B driver's license is a requirement.

AMA is part of the Education Administration and has about 80 employees. We work with labor market policy interventions to prevent and reduce exclusion. Within AMA, there are several activities that offer support through work training, rehabilitation, education, and assessment.

The government has announced a statutory activity requirement within social assistance, planned to take effect on July 1, 2026. The reform means that adults receiving social assistance who are deemed to have the ability to participate must engage in activities to be entitled to financial assistance. The execution and responsibility for the activities will lie with AMA, and based on political decisions, AMA will build a service that meets the mission and needs.
