Your New Role

You will work to support and promote independent living for the citizens residing at the group home. Duties include personal care, medication management, household tasks, social support, and activities – always with the citizen's participation at the center. The role also includes healthcare interventions such as tracheostomy care, cough assist machines, ventilators, and feeding tubes, requiring a high level of professional skill. The level of care varies and can range from supportive measures to fully compensatory support depending on the area of life. The work also involves a pedagogical approach and support for the citizen, utilizing methods such as picture support, TAKK (Tidig Aktiverande Kommunikation för Kommunikation), clear pedagogy, and low-arousal approaches.

We work with a contact person system, which is an extended responsibility for one or more citizens, including planning, implementation, follow-up, and documentation of individual interventions. Collaboration occurs with relatives, legal representatives, colleagues, managers, and other professionals such as healthcare, employment/occupational services, and authorities. Together, you will identify and create conditions for individual development and motivation. Other tasks may arise and vary over time.

Your Competence

• You are a qualified Support Assistant, requiring a completed upper secondary program in Children and Leisure with a focus on social or pedagogical work, or Care and Welfare with a specialization in disability or psychiatry. Alternatively, other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• You have documented experience of similar work, preferably with a pedagogical focus from schools, the disability sector, or other equivalent experience.
• Documented experience working with tracheostomy, picture support, and low-arousal approaches is an asset but not a requirement.
• You have good knowledge of Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension. You must be able to absorb and convey complex information regarding care interventions to colleagues and other stakeholders, and you need to be comfortable with digital work tools.

As a person, you are attentive, meticulous, and have a good pedagogical understanding. You meet people with empathy and base your actions on their individual needs. You maintain calm in stressful situations and act in a accommodating and patient manner. Furthermore, you are structured and independent, but also collaborate well with others. To succeed in this role, you need to be relationship-building, and work in an engaged and motivating way to contribute to the development of both the operation and the individual.

Welcome to Us

Group Home Rosenborgsgatan 28 is an LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons) residence for people with various intellectual disabilities. Six adult citizens live here, all in need of support in accordance with the LSS. You will find the operation in central Huskvarna with an attractive location close to shops, restaurants, and green areas. On our spacious inner courtyard, there is also a pleasant outdoor terrace for the residents.

The goal of the operation is to promote the individual's personal abilities while respecting personal integrity. In addition to regular duties, every employee is expected to take responsibility for one or more areas of responsibility that are worked on continuously. This can include introducing new colleagues, working with hygiene, documentation, sub-schedules, or other tasks that support quality in our work. We look forward to welcoming a new colleague who can contribute to the continued development of the operation!

Good to Know

The recruitment is for a permanent position with a start date according to agreement. Working hours include days and evenings, weekdays and weekends, with a rolling six-week schedule and duty every third weekend. Jönköping Municipality always offers 100% employment rate and joint planning where work at other operations within the area may occur.
