Do you want to help develop the sustainable transport systems of the future? The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) is seeking a GIS Specialist with expertise in automation to contribute to smarter geodata flows and better decision-making for Sweden's infrastructure. Responsibilities

In the role of GIS Specialist at VO Investment, you will work on both road and railway projects, ranging from smaller local investment projects to Trafikverket's largest and most complex infrastructure initiatives. You will manage geographic information and spatial data throughout the entire project lifecycle. You are responsible for specifying and following up on GIS deliveries and have overall responsibility for GIS-related issues in the projects. In your role, you will also contribute smart automation solutions in the information flow that facilitate daily work for your colleagues. Trafikverket primarily works with the software ArcGIS and FME.

As a specialist, you are often attached to one or more projects/programs. This position is intended primarily to support the Gothenburg-Borås program. The program is tasked with planning and building a new double-track railway between Gothenburg and Borås with a branch line to Mölnlycke. The new railway will improve commuting for work and study in the corridor and make it possible to travel by train to and from Landvetter Airport.

In addition to project support, you will contribute to further developing working methods within digital project management at both the project level and across Trafikverket. The role also includes knowledge transfer, environmental scanning, and the development of efficient and modern GIS processes. You will be part of a network of colleagues within GIS who support each other in their daily work.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is proactive and curious, with a strong desire to develop and take responsibility for your own knowledge development. You are self-reliant and have the ability to drive your work forward, even when you need to familiarize yourself with new areas on your own. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoy tackling complex issues. At the same time, you are communicative and pedagogical, with the ability to explain even difficult contexts in a clear and adapted way based on the recipient. The role involves many contact points, so you are comfortable in social situations and find it easy to create and build relationships. You also work in a structured and planned manner, organizing your work efficiently and creating conditions to drive tasks forward with high quality.

We are looking for you who

• have a university or college education of at least 180 credits (120 points) with a focus on GIS, or other education and current experience that we consider equivalent
• have several years of current and relevant experience in geographic information management where you have worked with GIS tools
• have very good knowledge of ESRI software
• have good knowledge of automation, for example with FME
• have very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• have good knowledge of verbal and written English

It is an advantage if you

• have experience of GIS work in larger organizations, preferably in a client role
• have experience of working in large and complex infrastructure projects
• have knowledge within BIM and/or data coordination
• have FME certification
• have knowledge of programming in e.g. SQL, Python or equivalent
