Project Engineer for Service Planning – Göteborg Energi Network

Do you want to contribute to the development of Gothenburg's electricity network in line with the city's needs? Göteborg Energi Network (GENAB) is now seeking a Project Engineer to strengthen our team within service planning.

In this role, you will work closely with our connection engineers and other functions within the organization. You will have many points of contact and enjoy communicating clearly and creating good collaborations. The work involves ongoing dialogue with customers and stakeholders, where you represent the business in a professional manner and always start from the customer's needs to find the best possible solutions.

Your Tasks

As a Service Project Engineer, you will work on the planning and preparation of service connections, with a focus on service ends over 63A. The role involves developing technically and economically sound solutions that work in practice, from planning to finished execution documentation. The work is carried out in close collaboration with connection engineers, installers, and project managers, where cooperation is an important prerequisite for driving the work forward. The role is primarily office-based, but you will also have the opportunity to go out into the field when necessary to ensure the right solution on site.

Key responsibilities of the Service Project Engineer:

• Design and prepare service connections (new as well as modifications to existing ones), particularly over 63A, including necessary measures and adjustments in the underlying distribution network.
• Investigate and compare alternative technical solutions for the best design of the distribution network.
• Plan and determine excavation routes and conduct site visits in the field to ensure the correct solution and feasibility.
• Prepare and submit permit applications and draw up agreements with property owners.
• Coordinate with other pipeline owners in connection with planning.
• Prepare cost estimates and contribute with economic documentation related to cases and measures.

Your Team

This position is located at GENAB, Build and Connect, the Planning Unit. The unit is responsible, among other things, for planning the electricity network in Gothenburg, the customer connection process, investments and reinvestments, environmental issues, and management of renovation and new construction projects in our distribution network. We are constantly working to follow up and plan for changes and to initiate and drive renovation and new construction projects.

Your Competence

We are looking for a person with experience and knowledge in electrical power and distribution networks, preferably with a background as a project engineer or preparer. Relevant education in electrical power or equivalent work experience, and you feel confident working with technical documentation, calculations, and planning issues. As a person, you are analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to quickly get up to speed on a challenge, see the big picture, and develop practical solutions of good quality.

The role suits someone who enjoys many points of contact and contributes to a respectful and inclusive collaboration.

Merits include:

• Knowledge and experience of working with support from EBR (Electricity Network Industry Guidelines) and AMA (General Material and Work Description).
• Experience with dpPower is a merit.
• Experience of network planning, preparation, and planning in 10/0.4kV networks.
