As a project manager with us, you will lead projects within product development, either internally at AVL or externally with one of our clients. The assignments vary in length and character and can encompass everything from propulsion and vehicle development to more software-related projects. The role also includes work in the bidding phase, where you, together with technical experts, plan resources, timelines, budgets, and technical documentation.

AVL is a leading partner in Electromobility, Vehicle, and ADAS/AD within the automotive and energy industries. In Sweden, we are about 250 employees, based in Gothenburg, Haninge, Stockholm, and Södertälje. As a Project Manager with us, you will work closely with experts both globally within AVL and externally with our clients – always with cutting-edge technology. If you work on any of our internal projects, you will be at our new office in Lindholmen.

In the role of Project Manager, you are responsible for leading and planning projects throughout their lifecycle, either internally at AVL or externally with the client. You drive the projects forward by ensuring that the budget, resource needs, and timeline are well-defined, feasible, and continuously monitored. A central part of your work is delivery management, where you ensure that the project’s goals are achieved on time, with the right quality, and in close dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders.

You will also work in the bidding phases where you, together with our technical experts, develop structured plans, timelines, resource assessments, budget proposals, and technical content for new projects. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to understand technical reasoning at a high level and translate them into clear plans and decision-making materials. Communication, documentation, and follow-up are important parts of your daily work.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field
• At least 2 years of experience in project management and project planning within the automotive industry
• A total of at least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Experience in product development processes
• Documented experience in budget, resource, and timeline planning
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Driving license B
• Willingness and ability to work both as a consultant with clients and in internal projects

Meritorious:

• Experience in bidding work, preferably towards OEM
• In-depth technical understanding of software, powertrain/propulsion, vehicle, or electromobility
• Experience with Jira
