Job Description

Do you have a strong interest in dogs and want to combine this with a socially important mission where you get the opportunity to make a real difference? We at Securitas are currently looking for you who want to take on the role of a dog handler with us. Do you want to be part of a work group with both two- and four-legged colleagues?

As a dog handler, you will work in cooperation with your security dog, using the dog's senses to provide extra personal protection. The personal protection provided by the security dog means that you receive immediate signals if there are unexpected people in your surroundings. A good security dog is like an extension of your senses and contributes to you having a greater opportunity to discover things that might otherwise go unnoticed. The dog is also trained to protect you as a handler if a threatening situation arises.

The work as a dog handler is independent and is often experienced as free, but with great responsibility. As a dog handler at Securitas, you have the opportunity for regular dog training together with our dog unit and instructor. Every year, you will take a functional test for the police.

There may also be opportunities for further development for pre-partner teams (EDD/NDD).

The tasks are highly varied, and with us, you can work both indoors and outdoors, day or night. Shift lengths vary but are often 12-hour shifts. Since we are an operation that runs all year round, it is common to work every other weekend. As an employee at our office in Årsta, you will become part of a tight-knit group of people.

Requirements Specification

Requirements

• You have a trained and approved dog team (handler and dog)
• You are a trained security guard (minimum VU2)
• Have professional experience from the security industry
• Passed grades in Swedish and English from the first year of high school
• Class B driver's license

Merits if you:

• have worked with similar tasks previously
• have a civilian or military security guard training
• have weapons training for the security industry

As a person, we believe you are service-oriented, calm, and organized, and can handle a periodically high work tempo. You are interested in technology and find it easy to understand instructions. We see that you as an applicant are an independent person who trusts your own ability, quickly understands problems, and solves them in a creative way. You have a systematic and careful approach with an eye for detail. Great importance will be attached to your personal suitability for the position.

For employment within Securitas Sweden AB, it is required that you have passed grades from the first year of high school in Swedish and are approved by the County Administrative Board for employment in an authorized security company according to the Security Companies Act (1974:191) (the application is made by Securitas). Depending on the position, a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may also be relevant. To investigate and assess whether you meet the requirements to be approved according to the respective regulation, a background check is carried out. The assessment concerns law-abidingness, suitability, reliability, loyalty, and possible vulnerabilities. Information obtained may, for example, come from yourself, open sources, or authorities. We apply a holistic assessment when examining suitability for each position.

Salary and employment conditions are based on the collective agreement between the employer organization Security Companies and the Swedish Transport Workers' Union.
