Operations and Alarm Operator at the Swedish Parliament Administration

The Swedish Parliament Administration is an authority tasked with facilitating the work of the Parliament. Approximately 750 politically neutral employees work at the Parliament Administration with many different types of tasks.

Do you want to be part of a team that actively works to protect Sweden's security and ensure safety and accessibility in one of Sweden's most important institutions for a functioning democracy?

We are now looking for an additional operations and alarm operator for the security department of the Parliament Administration, who is accustomed to working in an event-driven environment and enjoys having a central role in the authority's operational activities.

Your Responsibilities

You will detect security incidents at an early stage and limit the consequences by coordinating your own and partners' resources, which in turn will respond to security incidents. Establishing and updating an operational situational picture is a natural part of your work. You are expected to act both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues in all types of security incidents. You are the humble colleague who wants to be part of a driven and developing group, where the group's successes are valued higher than individual achievements. If necessary, you are also expected to take on a leadership role and act as a team leader. Additionally, you will work operationally as a security guard at the Parliament Administration.

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a high school education or equivalent training or experience. Furthermore, experience in security work is required, for example, from the security industry, the Armed Forces, the Prison Service, the Customs Authority, or the Police Authority, or other work involving management, alarm handling, and monitoring.

It is advantageous to have security guard training and training in the handling of firearms (HAS). Instructor competence or experience in conducting training in subjects such as communication, alarm handling, camera surveillance, and establishing operational command pictures is also meritorious.

This position places high demands on your security and confidentiality awareness. We are looking for someone who is persistent, vigilant, and meticulous when performing your tasks, while also having the ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and conditions when the situation requires it.

In this role, you need to be good at communicating and collaborating effectively with others. You should be interested in meeting people and possess personal maturity and integrity, while being unpretentious and solution-focused. Additionally, you should be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English and easily absorb both verbal and written information. Personal skill training in tactics, conditioning, and strength is something you highly value.

The employment is classified in a security class, which in this case requires Swedish citizenship and a passed security clearance. We welcome applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds. The final candidate will undergo tests at the National Service and Assessment Agency, where health, fitness, intelligence, and mental well-being will be tested.

The employment is subject to military placement. On-call duty may occur.

The Parliament Administration applies a probationary employment.

  • Employment type: Permanent employment
  • Scope: Full-time

We Offer You

At the Parliament Administration, you will work with stimulating, developing, and socially beneficial tasks close to the core of democracy. Here you will face professional challenges and enjoy good conditions regarding vacation, occupational pension, parental leave, and professional development. In the Parliament's premises, there is a gym and training facility with various training sessions every day.

Application

Apply via riksdagen.se, no later than April 7, 2026. Reference number: 1578-2025/26

We work competence-based throughout the process and are committed to an inclusive, fair, objective, and candidate-friendly process. In this process, we ask you to answer a number of selection questions instead of requesting a personal letter.
