Fire Safety Expert at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is now seeking a fire safety expert for the Technical Security section. The section consists of experts and administrators who together are responsible for requirements within security systems, coordination of secure communication, and the authority's overall strategic fire safety work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of Expert is based on three main areas: prevention, strengthening, and development. In the Security Department, you will have a central function for the entire Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The complex operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in relation to the increased need for more places for inmates in prisons and remand facilities present you with significant challenges but also great opportunities to lead the authority's work in fire safety matters. You will have many collaborative interfaces and, together with two other experts, drive fire safety issues. The tasks will be shaped together within the group, and the content of the position can be partially adapted based on your experience and interests.
The work includes, among other things, investigation and management of issues related to building technical fire safety so that fire safety issues are considered and handled correctly throughout the authority. In your work, you will take into account current legislation and relate it to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's organization to prevent risks and achieve reasonable fire safety for both new construction and existing operations. Support and guidance in fire matters will be provided to several national and regional functions within both security and property. You will also work with organizational fire safety and assist our various operations through advice and training in fire safety. In addition to systematic fire safety work, additional tasks in other security technical areas may be included.
The position involves some travel within Sweden.
