Security Specialist at the Prosecution Authority

The security department currently employs 28 staff members distributed across three units. The department is responsible for supporting the authority in security and preparedness issues by monitoring developments in the field and implementing new (or developing existing) processes and routines. The department is led by the security manager, and each unit is led by a unit manager.

Your Responsibilities

As a security specialist, you are expected to:

  • primarily work with and coordinate operational security efforts together with the Prosecution Authority's operations within the prosecutor's area of Stockholm
  • support operational managers with the processing and handling of operational security matters, for example, in preparation for upcoming court hearings and in situations of threats, violence, or other forms of unauthorized and improper influence against your own staff
  • together with operational managers, conduct risk analyses, develop protection plans, conduct training, and coordinate security work and employee protection within the prosecutor's area of Stockholm
  • regularly collaborate locally and regionally with other authorities, as well as participate in exercises and training in crisis management
  • support the authority in other security matters based on emerging needs or where the employer finds that there are specific needs based on your competence and ability.

The work involves travel within the area and, to some extent, within the country. If necessary, you may also be used as a resource throughout the country. Scheduled national readiness service is included as part of the duties. As a security specialist, you report to the head of the operational security unit.

Your Qualities and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • post-secondary education in a relevant security field, such as police training, officer training, or other post-secondary education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • several years of experience in operational security work, preferably within the framework of the police's victim and personal security work (BOPS) or similar personal protection/security work and/or security operations
  • good communication skills as well as a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • good analytical skills regarding issues related to threats and risks.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience working with crisis management and crisis leadership
  • documented experience in independently conducting risk and security assessments
  • experience in travel security and/or international security
  • served as a team leader at an operational or strategic level
  • experience in strategic and operational security work within the justice system.

About the Employment

The position is a permanent employment with a probationary period of 6 months.

Tests are part of the recruitment process.

The position is classified in a security class, and therefore a security clearance with background check will be conducted. Swedish citizenship is a requirement for this position.

The Prosecution Authority is a preparedness authority. Upon employment, you may be assigned to the Prosecution Authority in case of war. Read more under Work with us (#).
