Here at our Building Permit and Environmental Supervision Department, we are a vital part of the urban development process. Sundbyberg is a small municipality by area, and decision-making paths are short. The city works with the common goal of creating an attractive and well-designed city for our residents and visitors. At the building permit unit, we handle all types of building permit and notification cases, supervision, and advisory services. We are a small team of employees with strong cohesion, working closely together on our cases. Our work is varied and carried out with a high degree of personal responsibility. We are now looking for a Supervision Officer. Could you be our new colleague?

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a Supervision Officer with a focus on supervision according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL). Common cases include, among others, unauthorized construction, supervision of elevators, ventilation systems (OVK), and easily remedied obstacles. You will also be responsible for our work against economic crime.

The work includes supervision visits, investigations, communication, and decision-making. You will draft supporting documents and proposals for decisions to the Building and Permit Board. You will also contribute to developing routines and working methods for the unit's future work. Your focus area lies in supervision cases, but as we are a small organization, all types of tasks may occur. As a Supervision Officer, much of the work is independent, so you need to enjoy working autonomously.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university or college education with a focus on law, or another education within the field of urban development that the employer deems equivalent. It is important that you enjoy working with law and have good knowledge of how to read and interpret legal paragraphs.

Since a large part of the work involves contact with other people, you need to be trustworthy, attentive, service-oriented, and very good at communicating clearly in both speech and writing in Swedish. We place great importance on your personal qualities such as social competence, high service level, engagement, and structure.
