Section Chief and Deputy Safety Officer for the Swedish Armed Forces Transport Unit
About Us
The Swedish Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG) is responsible for logistics support to units, schools, and centers within the Swedish Armed Forces, both nationally and internationally. Within FMLOG, the Swedish Armed Forces Transport Unit holds functional management responsibility for the transport service and is tasked with coordinating the execution of the Armed Forces' strategic and operational transports of personnel, equipment, and entire units. Transports include air, sea, road, and rail, both within and outside Sweden.
The Staff Department
The department organizes various specialist and support functions, including HR, finance, infrastructure, and materiel. It also organizes a section dedicated to safety work within the transport unit. The safety section has a broad scope of responsibility, handling both general and unit-specific safety issues.
About the Position
As Section Chief, you are responsible for leading, distributing, and coordinating the work at the safety section. You have personnel responsibility for the section's employees, including responsibility for the working environment and salary setting. As Deputy Safety Officer, you serve as the transport unit's contact person for safety-related matters and maintain close cooperation with the Safety Officer for FMLOG. You provide direct support to the Transport Unit Commander on safety issues, such as safety analysis and security planning, and act as the presenter in the unit's management group.
Requirements
- Completed upper secondary education
- Passed result from a centrally organized training for safety officers by the Swedish Armed Forces, or equivalent knowledge acquired otherwise
- At least three years of experience in safety work within a government agency
- Current and relevant experience as a manager or team leader
- Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in both Swedish and English
- Class B driver's license (manual transmission)
