Your Role

Do you want to design the circuit boards of the future for advanced defense systems?

At Saab Dynamics in Karlskoga, we are currently seeking a PCB Designer with strong system understanding and experience in product-oriented development.

You will work with world-class technology, where reliability, innovation, and precision are at the forefront – and where your solutions make a difference.

As an innovative circuit board designer within the Ground Combat business unit, you will become a key player in the development of advanced defense systems, sensor systems, and electronic modules with high security and performance requirements.

You will work in our layout team with complex physical layouts, both rigid and flex/rigid-flex, and develop solutions that withstand extreme environments – both thermally and mechanically. The work is done in close collaboration with mechanical, electronics, software, and production teams, in an environment where documentation and traceability are an integral part of daily life.

In this role, we also see a concept monitoring function for our future designs as well as a coordinating role towards our own electronic development and our development partners.

Your Main Areas of Responsibility:

Design of advanced PCB solutions for Ground Combat's product portfolio
Integration – Understanding of mechanical interfaces and assembly challenges
Work for DFM/DFT and ensure that design is adapted for manufacturing and testing
Layout of complex rigid-flex in tight and protected spaces
Concept monitoring – contribute to technical choices and drive PCB strategy at the company
Collaborate with production, procurement, and suppliers in qualification and industrialization work

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics and at least 5 years of experience in PCB design in production-oriented environments.

You have:

Proficiency with Siemens EDA, Altium, or similar tools
Experience in designing robust, manufacturing-adapted boards
Understanding of electronics in systems with high environmental and reliability requirements
Experience of collaboration with mechanics, software, and production
Swedish and English in speech and writing

The position requires that you undergo and pass security clearance according to regulations in force at the time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
