Become a part of our dedicated team!

Are you interested in advanced fluid physics, attitude dynamics, and cutting-edge technology? Do you want to work with real impact on projectile performance in the airspace? We are now looking for a Ballistics Analysis Engineer – a role for you who want to combine theory and practice in a high-tech context.

About the position

As a ballistics analysis engineer, you will work at the heart of our ballistic development. Together with specialists in the field, you will participate in testing, CFD analyses, and flight mechanical calculations related to fin and rotation-stabilized projectiles. You are an important technical resource in our projects – both as an analyst and advisor.

You will contribute to projects concerning, among other things, the world-leading artillery system ARCHER, Combat Vehicle 90, and the future's intelligent ammunition in medium and large caliber.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Participate in planning, execution, and evaluation of shooting tests.
  • Perform flight mechanical calculations for projectile range and behavior in the airspace.
  • Analyze the effects of range-affecting measures on projectiles with the help of CFD.
  • Develop calculations and timelines for ballistic work.
  • Contribute to technology studies and new product ideas within the area of expertise.
  • Participate in investigations related to ballistics.
  • Work with and further develop analysis tools within ballistics.
  • Participate in several projects simultaneously and provide decision support regarding performance, function, and safety.
  • Work closely with colleagues from different disciplines and backgrounds.
  • Participate in competence development, both internally and externally – including international conferences and workshops.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in e.g. technical physics, mechanical engineering, or aeronautical engineering.
  • Good knowledge of fluid mechanics and aerodynamics is required.
  • Experience with software such as ICFD++, ANSYS Fluent, and CFX is advantageous.
  • Experience in the technical field is advantageous but not a requirement – the right competence and personality are most important.
  • Ability to quickly understand technical problems and think outside the box.
  • The corporate language is English, so you are expected to have good knowledge of English and Swedish, both spoken and written.

Personal qualities:

  • Innovative and proactive – you see opportunities and dare to suggest new ways forward.
  • Analytical – you easily understand complex relationships and draw technical conclusions.
  • Team-oriented – you are happy to share your expertise and work well in teams.
  • Independent – you take responsibility for your work and drive it forward.
  • Communicative – you express yourself clearly in both speech and writing, and have good documentation habits.
