Specialist Physician in General Practice at Jakobsberg University Primary Care Centre

Jakobsberg University Primary Care Centre is part of SLSO (Stockholm County Council Healthcare Area). We are located at Jakobsberg Hospital, a short walk from Jakobsberg Centre, and just 18 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm City.

We are a pleasant workplace with approximately 50 employees across various professions. We serve around 13,200 registered patients and are one of the region's larger primary care centres.

About the Position

As a specialist physician in general practice, you will perform standard duties within primary care. You will meet patients of all ages and from diverse cultural backgrounds and mentor future colleagues. The role requires broad medical competence, independence, and strong collaboration skills with various professional groups.

As a University Primary Care Centre, we are responsible for the continuing education of healthcare staff in specific knowledge areas. At Jakobsberg University Primary Care Centre, our focus areas include Cancer in Primary Care (CaPrim), Neurological Diseases, and Pain and Elderly Health.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed physician with specialist competence in general practice
  • Experience working in primary care
  • Familiarity with the TakeCare medical record system
  • Strong communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Proficiency with computers, including the Office suite
  • Interest in healthcare development, project management, and continuing education

Employment Type:

Permanent full-time position (100%) as a specialist physician.

Working hours: Monday–Friday.

A probationary period may apply.

Start date: By agreement.

For patient-facing work within Stockholm County Council Healthcare Area:

  • A background check is conducted prior to the employment decision, according to SLSO's general guidelines for background checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination according to current directives, conducted by the occupational health service prior to employment.
  • In addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirement is indicative for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
