Primary care within Region Jämtland Härjedalen is organized into 4 local care areas. Since January 2022, primary care and ambulance services have been integrated under good and close care. Each local care area is an economic unit led by a department manager. Primary care is also responsible for the region's medical advice service, youth clinics, and the local care department Näva. Within the area, there is a good research climate, and we have the status of a university healthcare unit. Our R&D unit can provide support and scientific supervision, primarily in collaboration with Umeå University.

We are currently looking for a Specialist in General Practice. With us, you have the opportunity to make a difference for our patients and provide them with a secure and professional contact. You will become part of a fantastic and energetic team that always puts the patient's best interests first. Lugnvik HC has close cooperation with Lits Health Center, and the health centers share unit managers who lead in a shared leadership model.

We are seeking a licensed physician who wants to contribute their competence and help us grow and develop. Are you interested in research? Then our region and primary care are perfect for you, as we are a university healthcare unit.

Our physician group consists of:

  • General Practitioners (District Physicians)
  • Specialty Trainee Physicians (ST)
  • Intern Physicians (AT)

We have close cooperation with other professional groups at the health center. We prioritize a good work environment and continuous development. With approximately 7,500 listed patients, we always work with a patient focus and strive to provide the best possible care.

Responsibilities

We offer a work environment with a lower number of listed patients per physician (1,250 patients per physician, with adjustments for side assignments and lower service rates). As a physician with us, you are responsible for your own schedule, as we do not apply fixed visit modules. You have the opportunity to decide which patients are booked, with the exception of emergency appointments. This gives you greater flexibility to adapt your daily schedule according to your own wishes, including administrative time.

We have regular physician meetings for one hour per week and training days five days per year. These days contribute to creating a strong general practice community in the region. In addition, you are offered a place in an FQ group for training and group reflection five days per year. Occasional on-call shifts are included in the work, and we strive for an even distribution of these shifts within the area.

The Primary Care area has the status of a university healthcare unit, and teaching, supervision, and education of medical students at Umeå University are part of the job.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a Specialist in General Practice. Experience working as a specialist physician in general practice is an asset, but we also seek those who will complete their training soon. Experience from primary care and personal research is an asset but not a formal requirement.

We place great importance on personal suitability, especially the ability to collaborate. You should be self-reliant, and if you are newly trained, ask questions and be curious. It is of great importance that you see our patients and come with continuous improvements that develop our health center and Primary Care.

Requirement: B-class driver's license.

Application Requirements

Primary Care is a healthcare unit within the region's health and medical care administration where university education for medical degrees and research is conducted. This means that all applicants must be subject to expert review by the R&D manager prior to potential employment. The application must include the following documents:

  • A structured CV
  • Certificate of medical degree from the institution(s) where the physician completed their basic education (applies also to physicians educated in other EU countries or outside the EU)
  • Licence certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen)
  • Specialist competence certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • Certificate/documentation of teaching experience and any other pedagogical merits
  • If applicable: Certificate of academic degree (e.g., Doctor of Medicine or Docent), date of disputation, and title of the thesis
  • Documented supervisor training
  • If applicable: Fully updated publication list
  • Any additional documented merits regarding, for example, clinical knowledge/experience, clinical development work, leadership experience, and anything else the applicant wishes to highlight as meritorious for the sought position
