About Surgical Department 2

Surgical Department 2 has 12 care places and specializes in upper and lower gastro surgery. We receive both acute and planned patients. Acute admissions are for those who need to be investigated, treated, or operated on urgently. Planned patients are already assessed and are admitted for a scheduled procedure/surgery. We work according to standardized care plans (ERAS) to reduce complications and promote rapid recovery. We have conducted development work in the department that has resulted in new working methods and routines that we now follow. This includes close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, and especially stoma therapists to ensure the best possible care for our patients. To promote safe discharges for our patients, we have a care planning nurse working with us.

We offer you

6 weeks of onboarding with observation in areas such as surgery, endoscopy clinic, and stoma clinic. Every week, we hold internal training for staff to enhance competence. You will also attend internal training in stoma care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse, you will be responsible for 6 patients together with a nursing assistant. During weekdays, there is also a lead nurse and resource nursing assistant available for support.

As a nurse, you are expected to plan, lead, and organize the nursing work. We work with the right use of competence (RAK), which means that you as a nurse focus on specific nursing care. You will have a variety of tasks as you work with both elective and acute care.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a Swedish professional license as a nurse.

You have a genuine interest in people and always keep the patient in focus. You thrive in a workplace where you have the opportunity to work with varied tasks at a varied pace. It is important to us that you are a flexible person with a pleasant demeanor. You work well with others and have a good ability to structure your work. We place great emphasis on qualities such as good collaboration skills and personal suitability.
