Responsibilities

The Adult Unit is growing and currently consists of a unit manager, a team leader, and 9 dedicated social workers. Together, we work with regulatory authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVM) for individuals over 18 years of age. A strong child rights perspective permeates all our activities, regardless of the case area. We handle cases within financial assistance, harmful use and addiction, social psychiatry, domestic violence, and other adult cases within individual and family support, such as housing social contracts. Through close internal collaboration between all case areas, we can leverage specialist knowledge, work efficiently, and ensure that our citizens receive cohesive and secure case handling.

About the Role

As a social worker with us, the client is at the center. You work with a broad target group and meet people in various life situations, such as unemployment, addiction problems, long-term mental illness, sick leave, domestic violence, and criminality.

Your Mission

In this role, you are responsible for supporting individuals towards increased independence and, in the long term, self-sufficiency. The work is carried out through close collaboration with the client and in cooperation with other actors.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Supporting and motivating clients through individually adapted sub-goals, with a focus on achieving self-sufficiency.
• Working through regular meetings, follow-ups, and joint planning with both the client and partners.
• Investigating, assessing, and making decisions regarding the right to financial assistance.
• Planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work in a structured manner.
• Collaborating with internal and external actors, such as other parts of the social services, healthcare, psychiatry, the Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), the Labor Market Unit, and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan).

Qualifications

About You

Financial assistance constitutes a central and often decisive part of social work. The work as a social worker within financial assistance is both complex and meaningful. You often meet people in vulnerable and changing life situations, which requires a professional approach, good empathetic ability, and respectful treatment.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has the ability to build trusting relationships and adapt communication based on the individual and situation.
• Is structured, responsible, and can drive your work forward independently.
• Is calm and stable even in pressured situations, with the ability to prioritize and maintain focus.
• Has a collaborative approach and contributes to a positive and solution-focused work environment.
• Has good verbal and written communication skills.

We require you to have:

• A degree in Social Work or an equivalent university degree deemed relevant by the employer.
• Current experience in regulatory authority within financial assistance.

It is an advantage if you have:

• MI (Motivational Interviewing) training.
• Experience of participating in or leading SIP (Social Intervention Plan) meetings.
• Experience working with the FIA assessment instrument.

Terms

Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent.
