S:t Eriks High School and Polhems Adapted High School are two municipal schools sharing a building right in the heart of Kungsholmen in central Stockholm.
Here you will find an exciting mix of both university-preparatory programs and vocational programs where creativity and knowledge are at the center. The school offers a diversity of education, activities, nationalities, and languages, making it a fun and stimulating workplace for both students and staff.
We educate for careers in automation, electrical engineering, and communication, fine carpentry, floristry, hairdressing, design, and sewing. We prepare for university through the arts program (visual arts and design, animation, film and directing, music, event technology, musical theater, and theater), the natural sciences program, and the social sciences program (media, information, and communication, as well as social sciences). We also offer adult education and the National High School for the Physically Disabled (RGRH).

The school library is a pedagogical resource for teaching and schoolwork. Collaboration between teachers and the school librarian contributes to students getting better conditions to learn.
Job Description
As a school librarian, your task is to continue building our library into a well-integrated part of the operations that supports learning and students' achievement of goals.
Currently, there are two librarians, and we are now looking for a substitute for one of the positions for the upcoming school year 2026/2027.
You need to be a secure and stable person who dares to make demands and ensure the work at the library. You are a natural part of the school's pedagogical work and our focus on sustainable development and sustainable learning. The school library should be usable by students and teachers as a resource in teaching and contribute to reading and writing development. You will therefore collaborate with teachers regarding planning for potential author visits, class visits, tutoring, and instruction in information search and source criticism (MIK) in regular teaching.
You will also be expected to initiate projects related to the school library's operations and actively follow developments in the field through continuous environmental monitoring.
You will be responsible for continuing to build routines regarding the handling of the school's teaching materials concerning ordering, lending, and return, which will be handled by the library.
Regular review and inventory of the library need to be done to ensure that the literature supports the school's program offerings and is adapted to the students at the school.
Qualifications
You
- have a university degree in library and information science, or education that the employer finds equivalent
- have experience of pedagogical work
- have experience of working in a school library, preferably at a high school
- have experience of working in an adapted high school
- have knowledge of the library's data systems
- have experience of purchasing in Agresso
- have good ICT skills
- have a great interest in developing the operations with all that it entails in terms of flexibility, perseverance, and creativity
- are flexible, structured, outgoing, and self-reliant
- have initiative and a clear commitment to working with young people, as well as being factual and pedagogical
- have the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing, as well as having good collaboration and organizational skills
If you have knowledge and experience in the following areas, it is meritorious:
- pedagogical education
- experience of a managerial function
- knowledge of youth literature and contemporary media
- knowledge of reading processes and methods for how literature can be used in teaching
