Stockholm Diocese is looking for an Archival Archivist

As an Archival Archivist, you will be part of the diocesan office, which consists of about 65 employees located in pleasant premises on Västra Trädgårdsgatan by Kungsträdgården in central Stockholm.

Here, you will be surrounded by colleagues with a wide range of competencies, all working towards the common goal of promoting the activities of the more than 50 parishes in various ways. As an employee of the Church of Sweden, you will work in a flat organization where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development permeate the operations.

The position is located in the Operational Support unit, where 12 employees work. The Stockholm diocesan office is an activity-based workplace where remote work is permitted as far as the operations allow.

The Position

As an archivist, you, along with a colleague, will have primary responsibility for the archives of the Stockholm Diocese. You are an important support for the parishes and provide advice and guidance in archive and information management. As part of this, the archivist is responsible for training and continuing education for relevant parties in the parishes regarding archives, diaries, and document management. Additionally, you will provide support in Public 360, which is an IT support for case and document management (both in the diocesan office's organization and in the individual parishes as well as for elected representatives).

In the role of archivist, you will participate in administrative oversight, project work, and assist the diocesan office in church election work and other related issues regarding archives. The role involves a significant amount of contact and interaction with the parishes in the diocese and requires a person who feels comfortable with this.

Your work will also include contributing from an archivist perspective in coordinating and preparing cases before and after meetings, such as diocesan council meetings.

Another important task is ongoing archiving and archive maintenance, disposal, and establishing disposal protocols. The diocesan office also occasionally receives release requests, and the archival archivist assists in producing documents.

Who Are We Looking For?

• You have a university degree of 180 credits/120 points and at least one year of studies in archival and information science at the university level.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
• Experience working in the Church of Sweden is an advantage.

You have previous experience in operational-based archival reporting, digital archiving, and information management. Previous experience working with Public 360 or other case management systems is an advantage, as well as previous work within the Church of Sweden or public administration.

To thrive in this role as an archivist, you need to find social interaction enjoyable and exciting. You should also feel comfortable taking responsibility for training sessions with groups in the various parishes. In addition, you should be structured and have the ability to plan your work.
