Company Description

Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of about 700 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that trains personnel in Swedish nuclear power, delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as developing and providing training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dust safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to enhance our capabilities in project management and selected key technical disciplines. We actively work on continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

About the Role

Do you want to take a leading technical role in projects that shape today's and tomorrow's energy systems?

To strengthen our technical projects and assignments, we are now looking for Technical Generalists who thrive in complex technical environments and have the ambition to take on leading roles such as Tech Lead, Technical Coordinator, or Technical Sub-Project Manager. If you value collaboration and enjoy responsibility, we offer you a place to grow while working purpose-driven.

About the Role

Nuclear power is a key component of Sweden's fossil-free energy system. Vattenfall is driving the development of new facilities while also undertaking extensive modernization and lifetime extension projects at our existing nuclear power plants. We also support the development of hydropower. As a Technical Generalist with us, you will work at the intersection of technology, projects, and leadership. You have a broad technical background and the ability to delve deeper when needed — but most importantly, you have the ability to steer, coordinate, and lead technical work packages in projects with many dependencies.

Your Main Responsibilities

As a Technical Generalist, you will:

  • Steer, analyze, and lead the development of technical solutions where many technical areas intersect.
  • Coordinate requirements, technical interfaces, and dependencies.
  • Ensure technical quality in design reviews, verification, and documentation.
  • Contribute to procurement, supplier reviews, and technical dialogues.
  • Lead technical working groups or sub-projects within your area.
  • Drive technical decisions and be the natural point of reference for technology-related questions.
  • Build and develop technical working methods, standards, and processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree, e.g., in engineering, or equivalent competence acquired through relevant work experience.
  • Several years of experience in technical roles in the energy sector, industry, or other regulated activities.
  • Experience in technical leadership, such as Tech Lead, technical coordination, or project management.
  • Broad technical competence and a very good understanding of system dependencies.
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Experience in nuclear technology operations and licensing processes is a merit.

About You

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, where you have a natural technical leadership and are confident in driving technical teams forward. You have the ability to create structure in complex and changing contexts and communicate clearly to bridge between different technical disciplines. You enjoy taking responsibility, making decisions, and being the one who coordinates the whole. Furthermore, you are analytical, curious, and easily see connections and consequences across system boundaries. You also need to have high integrity, be quality-conscious, and act as a role model in working methods and collaborations. For us, it is also important that your personal values align with our culture, characterized by our principles of being active, open, positive, and safety-conscious.

We Offer

• A leading technical role with impact in both new and existing nuclear projects.

• The opportunity to combine technical depth with broad coordination and leadership.

• Competent colleagues and projects with high technical complexity.

• Flexible working methods and a good balance between work and private life.

• The opportunity to also contribute to hydropower projects and corporate-wide initiatives.

Additional Information

In addition to being part of shaping the smart energy society of the future, we offer you a developing and varied job with many points of contact. For us at Vattenfall, it is important that work and private life have a good balance, which is why we offer flexibility in work and the opportunity to work from home when needed.
