Sigtuna Municipality's libraries are located in four places: Märsta, Rosersberg, Sigtuna, and Valsta. At the end of this year, the new cultural center will open in Valsta, where the library will have a central place in the building along with the other activities of the Culture and Leisure Administration.

By offering literature, information, and creating conditions for good meetings, learning, and creativity, the libraries provide tools for a well-functioning democracy. Through good service, the libraries are safe and welcoming places for everyone.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a driven and structured person to work on developing and coordinating the library's activities for children and young people. You will play a key role in coordinating, developing, and organizing this work. Through your efforts, you will contribute to strengthening the drive within the team to inspire a love of reading and create participation for children and young people.

The tasks include both practical and strategic elements.

The role involves, in close collaboration with library management, being responsible for planning and coordinating the children's and youth library group. Through your commitment, you create conditions for our libraries to be inspiring and relevant meeting places for children and young people. The workplace is Märsta library, but work at other libraries is included. The activities are conducted every day of the week, and both evening and weekend work are included.

Your responsibilities include:

• being the convener and responsible for meetings in the children's and youth library group
• following developments in children's and youth libraries regarding operational ideas, methods, and media
• initiating and following up projects related to reading promotion and participation
• planning training and educational initiatives
• contributing to media strategic work and being part of the library's media group
• building networks and collaborating with actors in, for example, the municipality, civil society, business, and the region
• participating in the practical work at the library's information desks and other children's activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in library and information science or another academic education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Has experience in planning and implementing activities for children and young people, as well as good knowledge of reading promotion methods and children's and young people's participation.
• Has experience in network building and collaboration with external actors.
• Has very good knowledge of children's and young people's media habits and living conditions. You also have high digital competence and a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in development work or project management within libraries and experience in planning and implementing educational initiatives.
• Experience in media strategic work.
• Education and/or professional experience from pedagogical work.

You are creative and like to think outside the box to find solutions to challenges. At the same time, you are collaborative, unpretentious, and contribute to a positive and collective focus in the group.
