About us

We are opening an intermediate care unit (IMA) and are looking for a licensed nurse with at least one year of experience in hospital care, preferably in emergency or medical care.

Ward 90 and 91 are part of the emergency flow at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where most patients come directly from the emergency department. We receive patients with acute conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, dyspnea, infection, and poisoning. As a medical acute care unit (MAVA), we also receive patients from the intensive care units within the hospital and play an important role in Sahlgrenska University Hospital's disaster preparedness.

At our wards 90 and 91, we aim to create value for the patient by providing each individual with the most effective care possible. The patient should always feel welcome, and nothing is impossible.

As a nurse with us, it is important that you are prepared to take a leading role. The work is very varied and involves a lot of medical technology since our patients often require a high degree of monitoring. Our ward is large and welcoming, and we are used to receiving new employees and students. We value an open climate in our workgroup.

For those who want to work a little less, we can offer, for example, a 78% night position (10 nights/4 weeks) with a salary that approximately corresponds to a 100% day/evening position. Contact us, and we will agree on a position that suits you and your circumstances. Sahlgrenska University Hospital has a time quota for certain hours at night, meaning that working nights 32 hours/week provides a full-time salary, as well as a doubled additional compensation during the hours of 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a licensed nurse. Experience in emergency care or having worked as a nurse for at least one year is an advantage.

To fit in the role, you should have personal maturity and stability. You enjoy when things happen and are driven by challenges. You also need to possess the ability to be flexible to find the best solution for each patient.

In the event of recruitment of doctors/nurses with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the relevant position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualifications/specialist certificates.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes working in at least two different wards to broaden your competence.
