Björlandaskolan is a F-6 school located in the scenic northern part of Torslanda.

It takes about 20 minutes to get here easily from central Gothenburg by bus. We are a school where students, staff, and parents work together to create good conditions for learning. Approximately 550 students attend the school, and there are about 60 staff members. We have several established and appreciated traditions that strengthen community and joy at the school. We prioritize safety for all students.

In the school area, there are three additional school nurses, one of whom is present at the school one day a week. As a school nurse, you will be part of a professional network for the other school nurses in the educational area, led by the medically responsible manager, MLA. You will receive introductory training and access to a mentor during the introductory period. School nurses receive profession-specific competence development and have the opportunity for regular supervision outside of school. The school nurse can also supervise VFU students within the same profession who are studying in one of the approved further education programs for school nurses.

Job Responsibilities

As a School Nurse within the School Administration, you are part of the Medical Intervention of Student Health, EMI. You primarily work in a health-promoting and preventive manner and contribute your nursing competence to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning.

In your role as a school nurse, you will be an important part of the student health team at the school. There is a full-time employed social worker and two special educators/teachers, as well as a psychologist who are present two days a week.

In addition, you collaborate with the school's staff and management based on the governing documents in the health and medical care law, the school law, guidance for student health, and Gothenburg City's Method Support. You will have close contact with the school's students and many contacts with guardians, external healthcare providers, and authorities outside the school.

The City of Gothenburg has a set basic program for EMI that includes health visits, health conversations, and vaccinations. The school nurse is responsible for organizing and planning their own and the school doctor's reception work during the school year. The work also includes issues related to students' working environment, the school's core values, and lifestyle-related health issues, and you will be a link in the school's student health team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is both a licensed nurse and has specialist training. Approved further education includes: district, child and youth, and school nurse. Experience working as a school nurse, working with children and youth, as well as good computer skills and knowledge of PMO and/or equivalent documentation systems are advantageous.

As a school nurse in the school's arena, you are secure, responsible, and flexible. You find it easy to build relationships and see development opportunities in everyone. We want you to be a meticulous person with good planning and organizational skills, as well as being good at communicating, motivating, and inspiring.

Good computer skills are required as you will be working in various IT systems. All documentation for school nurses and school doctors, as well as student health, is done in our digital journal system, PMO.
