Specialist doctors or senior physicians in the field of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care now have the opportunity to apply for the position of unit chief physician (VÖL) for the perioperative pediatric operations within AnOpIVA at Mölndal Hospital.

Here, over 1000 children are anesthetized and operated on each year.

As a pediatric VÖL at AnOpIVA Mölndal, you will play a central role in the development of the perioperative pediatric operations and have excellent opportunities to influence working methods, education, and quality in the care of children.

About the assignment

The assignment as pediatric VÖL means that you have the overall medical responsibility for the functional area of perioperative pediatric care within AnOpIVA. You will work to develop and coordinate the pediatric anesthesia operations and ensure that the clinic's various units provide cohesive and equitable care for children across the entire operational area.

Your responsibilities include contributing to the development and implementation of medical guidelines and working methods, driving quality and development work within pediatric care, promoting education and knowledge dissemination in the field, and working with the implementation and follow-up of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in the perioperative operations.

You will closely collaborate with the respective unit chief physicians who are medically responsible for the surgical units as well as ICU/Post-op.

The assignment comprises about 10% of the position, with the possibility of adjustment based on the needs of the operations and current activities. The VÖL assignment is a three-year appointment within the framework of a permanent employment.

Clinical work

The position is combined with clinical work as an anesthesiologist and intensivist. Supervision and teaching of candidates as well as residents and specialist trainees are included in the work.

You will work in the units where children are treated, primarily in hand surgery, day surgery, and eye surgery, but also in orthopedic surgery and ICU/Post-op. There is an opportunity for rotation to DSBUS.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a specialist in anesthesia and intensive care and has good experience in pediatric anesthesia. Experience in process work, development work, or leadership is an advantage.
