KAJSAS is seeking a responsible and experienced team member with at least seven years of documented experience in professional kitchen work. The role involves significant responsibility for planning, ordering, staff management, and handling deliveries. You are expected to lead the kitchen independently and confidently during service.
KAJSAS values a cheerful demeanor, a positive and respectful attitude towards colleagues, and a good ability to handle stress during busy periods. You have solid professional knowledge in cooking and a very good understanding of applicable guidelines and requirements regarding restaurant hygiene and food safety.
Responsibilities1. Deputy LeadershipSteps into the head chef's role in their absence
Ensures that the kitchen's routines and working methods are followed
Maintains structure, order, and pace during service
Leads and distributes the daily work in the kitchen
Responsible for task distribution among chefs, kitchen assistants, and other kitchen staff
Coaches and guides staff, with a particular focus on younger chefs
Coordinates bookings, kitchen status, and supply flow with the responsible serving staff
Tastes and ensures that dishes meet KAJSAS quality standards
Responsible for ensuring that dishes are sent out correctly and on time
Monitors all stations during ongoing service
Plans and organizes preparations for service
Ensures that each station is properly prepared
Follows up and keeps timelines
Actively contributes ideas and tests new dishes
Adjusts recipes and portions in collaboration with the head chef
Ensures that cost calculations and raw material budgets are followed
Checks raw material orders and organization in all refrigerators
Follows up on waste, quality, and sustainability
Participates in inventory
Ensures that hygiene and safety routines are followed at all stations
Responsible for keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and safe
We are looking for someone who has:
At least 7 years of experience in professional kitchen work
Documented leadership experience and the ability to lead a kitchen during service
Very good professional knowledge in cooking
Experience in planning, mise en place, and staff management
Familiarity with ordering, inventory, and waste control
Very good knowledge of restaurant hygiene and food safety
Stress-resistant, responsible, and collaborative
