The administration's mission is to offer adults guidance and education in lifelong learning. Within the administration, there is also guidance and support for adults' individual development towards self-sufficiency. The administration is responsible for integration and also coordinates labor market policy measures.

Our family supporters work with families with both preventive and mandated interventions. We have a close collaboration with schools and other units working with children and youth. Description

Do you want to help build something entirely new – and at the same time make a real difference for students who need it the most?

Together, the Child and Youth Administration and the Learning and Labor Administration are now starting a joint school social team in Forshaga Municipality.

This is a new initiative where schools and social services work together, closely with students, to prevent and address problematic school absenteeism and strengthen students' opportunities to achieve their knowledge goals.

The team is linked to the First Line Social Services and is based on early, coordinated, and cross-professional interventions. The work is based on a structured process of mapping, planning, implementation, and follow-up. Always with the student's best interests in focus.

This is an opportunity to be involved from the start and shape working methods, structures, and collaboration between two administrations. We are now looking for a social worker who wants to take an active role in developing the school social work in the municipality and contribute the social perspective in the work surrounding the student's entire life situation.

Responsibilities

As a social worker in the school social team, you will be employed within the Individual and Family Care and work closely with the school.

You will:

• Work closely with students with repeated or prolonged school absenteeism
• Be responsible for social mapping and assessment based on the social services' mission
• Initiate, coordinate, and follow up on interventions according to applicable legislation
• Work preventively and supportively together with the student, guardians, and school staff
• Be an important link between the school and social services
• Collaborate with other functions within IFO and, if necessary, external actors
• Document and follow up cases according to SoL and other relevant legislation
• Be involved in developing structures and working methods for school social work in the municipality

The work involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration within the team. You drive your cases forward while contributing to the whole.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work
• Experience working with children and youth within social services
• Good knowledge of SoL, LVU, and confidentiality legislation
• Experience in independently handling and documenting cases

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience of collaboration between schools and social services
• Worked with problematic school absenteeism or other complex issues concerning children and youth

To succeed in the role, you need to have excellent collaboration skills and enjoy working in cross-professional contexts. You need to be secure, stable, and relationship-building, as well as able to work structured, independently, and flexibly. You have good analytical skills to identify causes of school absenteeism both inside and outside the school. Finally, you need to be comfortable representing the organization and speaking in front of groups.
