Region Värmland is here for everyone in Värmland to feel good and for our region to be attractive and competitive.

We are about 8600 employees working in healthcare, dental care, regional development, public transport, as well as culture and education.

Healthcare is Region Värmland's largest operation. Together with our patients, we strengthen public health and develop healthcare so that it can contribute to a world-class quality of life for the population of Värmland. We operate health centers throughout the county and many other specialist clinics. In Värmland, there are emergency hospitals in Arvika, Karlstad, and Torsby.

Your Workplace

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health issues. Together with other actors in the region, we have the mission to provide equitable, needs-based, and cost-effective care for children and young people and their families. Collaboration with families and other actors such as schools and social services is a significant and important part of our work.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a large workplace with about 200 employees from various professional backgrounds. We work in interdisciplinary teams and take joint responsibility for the patients belonging to the team. We have the patient as our obvious focus.

Reception 3 is one of three base receptions at the clinic. We work with children and adolescents living in the eastern parts of Värmland, which includes the municipalities of Torsby, Hagfors, Sunne, Munkfors, Forshaga, Kil, and Karlstad. Our team consists of a unit manager, team leader, doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and administrative staff.

We are now looking for treatment staff who can complement our team and help meet the needs of our children and adolescents in Värmland.

With us, you will have the opportunity to influence the development of the organization. We value employees' ideas and engagement, and see your professional contribution as a central part of our continued development. There are good opportunities to deepen your knowledge in your specific areas of interest. We offer regular continuing education in the form of thematic hours.

Your Responsibilities

As a therapist, you are a very important part of the work that takes place in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. You will meet children and young people both individually and in teams, dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety problems, and neuropsychiatric disabilities. Additional issues such as self-harm, sleep difficulties, substance misuse, and psychosocial problems are also present.

You will be responsible for mapping, establishing care plans, habilitation efforts, psychoeducation, and parental support. In consultation or together with other professionals, you will also be responsible for assessment and treatment. The majority of the treatment work is done independently under supervision. A significant part is collaboration with other care providers such as schools and social services.

As a new employee at our reception, you will receive an individually tailored introduction schedule focusing on gradually making you comfortable in the role.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for someone who is a licensed healthcare social worker, social worker, or has another equivalent education with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) level 1 or another basic psychotherapeutic orientation. Experience in treatment work and/or experience from psychiatry and social work with children and adolescents is an advantage.

You enjoy working in a team and contributing your expertise in complex patient cases, while also having the ability to work independently and take initiative. You are self-driven and structured in your work approach. You are confident in yourself and have an easy time building and maintaining relationships through your good collaboration skills.
