About the Position

We are looking for you who are passionate about LSS operations and have a strong commitment to working with people with disabilities. We are currently seeking personal assistants, both permanent and temporary, for users living in Arvika.

Job Responsibilities

The job includes assisting the user with basic needs, medical care based on self-care, and structured training in various forms throughout the day. The work also involves accompanying the user to school and various activities. In your role, you will support the user in initiating different activities as their own ability to do so may be low. The user needs support to interpret and understand the world and to enable social interaction with family, relatives, and friends.

The work requires great sensitivity towards the user and flexibility regarding schedule and workplace.

Working as a personal assistant means assisting another person with everything that entails. The job is not necessarily about changing, improving, or choosing for the user. The user should be given the greatest possible space to decide for themselves about their life. Sometimes the job just means being present, being prepared, and ready to assist.

Qualifications

We are looking for women who have training in nursing, childcare, wellness and health, personal assistant education, and/or other education/experience deemed suitable by the employer. Since the work involves personal assistants working in very personal, sensitive care situations, it is important for the users that you are a woman.

We welcome applicants with experience working as a personal assistant with relatives in the same household and/or those who have experience in the disability field through previous work, assignments, or relationships in their vicinity.

You must have a genuine interest in working with people, a professional approach, the ability to collaborate, be meticulous, responsible, and enjoy working within given frameworks. You also need to be in good physical shape as the work involves some transfers (aids are available) and engagement during regular training sessions.

It is important that you are driven, creative, and proactive, enjoy physical activities, and encourage others in their development. You should also be interested in your own development within the profession. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

A driver's license and access to your own car is a plus, and it is desirable that you are accustomed to using digital tools such as computers, mobile phones, and tablets.

You should not be a smoker or allergic as animals may be present in the home.

Conditions

The positions are permanent at 65-100% where you work day/evening and/or night shifts as well as every other weekend. We are also looking for those who want to work as temporary employees on an hourly basis and as summer substitutes.
