We offer paid assignments for those who want to help create good days for some Karlstad residents who need extra support.

To get an assignment with us, you need to have a commitment and interest in other people as well as some extra time in your daily life. You do not need any special education or background to submit an application, but you must be at least 18 years old, be able to express yourself well in Swedish both orally and in writing, and have a good understanding of Swedish society.

Guardian and Administrator

As a guardian or administrator, you monitor the rights of the principal and ensure that they are doing well. The principal is the person who receives help from a guardian or administrator and has some form of issue that makes it difficult for them to manage on their own. The extent of guardianship or administration should be tailored to the principal's needs. The following parts may be included:

Monitor Rights

Monitoring rights means that you, as a guardian or administrator, must ensure that the principal is not deprived of their rights and receives the help and support from society they are entitled to. An example could be applying for services from the municipality, applying for compensation or benefits, entering payment plans with creditors, monitoring the principal's rights in an estate, or assisting the principal in buying or selling property.

Caring for the Person

Caring for the person means that you, as a guardian or administrator, must ensure that the services granted to the principal, such as home care or special housing, are managed in a way that the principal achieves the highest possible quality of life. In practice, this means keeping a "watchful eye" on how healthcare, social services, or similar perform their duties for the principal. Caring for the person also includes being aware of the principal's need for social contacts and taking the initiative to ensure that the principal has, for example, a contact person or recreational activities.

Manage Property

Managing property means ensuring that the principal's finances are handled. This can involve taking care of pensions and benefits, paying bills, providing pocket money, and managing any other assets the principal may have. The assignment includes submitting an annual report on how the assets have been managed, a so-called annual accounting, to the supervisory board.

Other

Selection will take place continuously. Before confirming an assignment, we will request extracts from the criminal record, social register, and check that you do not have any payment remarks. You will also need to undergo a mandatory training that we provide.
