Do you want an exciting, interesting, and challenging job? We are now looking for a school nurse focused on elementary school grades F-6.

The employment is within the central Student Health Unit of the preschool and elementary school administration, which includes about 30 employees and professions such as special educator, counselor, psychologist, school nurse, and school doctor. The operations are conducted both at the Student Health Unit in central Mora in the same building as Mora Family Center, and in the operations at our preschools and elementary schools. The school nurse group includes 8 positions, of which two are for high school. The position comprises 80%.

We offer you mentoring support from an experienced colleague, regular collegial support in your profession, and external supervision together with the professional group. You work daytime, weekdays, and have the opportunity to influence your working hours within certain frameworks; some administrative tasks can be done remotely by agreement with the manager.

Job Responsibilities

The Student Health Service primarily works to promote health and prevent issues while supporting students' development towards educational goals. The role of the school nurse involves collaboration with students and guardians, as well as close cooperation with school staff. You will provide advice, support, and offer qualified conversations to students and guardians, as well as consult school staff in medical matters. The work includes interventions with individual students as well as groups of students. The school nurse's work is largely based on the basic program, including vaccinations, health conversations, and health checks.

You primarily work in a team and also collaborate closely with other professionals within the Student Health Unit, with the principal, and various professionals employed at the school, as well as with various external actors. The job involves a significant amount of independent work where you set your own agenda and take responsibility for completing your tasks.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse with further education as a school nurse, district nurse, or training in health and medical care for children and adolescents. Experience as a school nurse is an advantage. You have the ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, staff, and colleagues. You have a customer- and citizen-oriented approach with students and guardians in focus. You should be able to contribute to the overall student health work with your professional competence and have the ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams. You are communicative, flexible, have a positive attitude, are solution-focused, and development-oriented. You can also structure your own work and work independently.

Knowledge

Higher education, nursing education, individuals with further education in school nursing, district nursing, or child and youth care are prioritized.

Knowledge of current governing documents and legislation.

Proficiency in the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

Digital competence.

Driver's license for manual car.
