Logistics Officer at Blekinge Air Wing

Do you want to influence Sweden's defense capability? Are you someone who enjoys fast-paced changes, challenges, and solving problems, and wants to work with logistics? Then the job as a logistics officer at Blekinge Air Wing F 17/Base Unit might be for you.

The Base Unit

As a logistics officer, you will work within the staff of the Base Unit, which consists of a small management team with unit staff, base unit/airfield management, training department, as well as four companies and two support troops, totaling about 470 people.

Main Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will largely involve leading the work with and developing material, maintenance, and logistics processes, as well as planning, coordinating, booking, and following up on maintenance of materials. You will also spend time on inventory, material planning, and working according to incoming decisions regarding, for example, disposal and modification of materials.

Your tasks will also include setting needs and distributing/allocating materials within both the basic organization (GRO) and the wartime organization (KRO).

You will participate in development work within logistics for F 17, but also for the Air Force and the Armed Forces. Your tasks will also include participating in larger projects regarding war unit planning, exercise planning, mobilization, and readiness issues within the framework of the unit. You will participate in central and local logistics preparations for exercises, missions, and operations, both nationally and internationally within the framework of NATO. You must also be prepared to accompany as a logistics representative during exercises, missions, and operations. Furthermore, you will provide administrative support to the unit commander and the rest of the unit.

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic education for the position or equivalent knowledge that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Driver's license B (manual transmission)
  • Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English

Meritorious

  • Previous service in a position as a logistics officer or similar tasks within supply management.
  • The Armed Forces' accounting systems PRIO and LIFT
  • Completed the Armed Forces' basic soldier training.

Personal Qualities

You are meticulous, structured, and responsible, and can work at a high pace while having the ability to shift focus when needed. It is also important that you have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, as well as to plan and conduct work meetings. You have the ability to collaborate with many stakeholders both within and outside the Armed Forces.

Employment type: the position is permanent with an initial probationary period of 6 months.

Position level: civilian
Work location: Ronneby. The position involves travel and participation in exercises and operations.
Start date by agreement
The position involves military placement and will therefore be preceded by a security clearance.

If you lack military training, you will need to complete basic soldier training (GSU) to be able to serve in a wartime position under all levels of readiness.

Information about the Armed Forces and the recruiting unit:

Blekinge Air Wing trains three combat units; two fighter squadrons with Jas 39 Gripen and one base unit. The fighter squadrons play an important role in protecting Sweden's airspace, which is called incident readiness. The base unit is the largest combat unit that contains everything needed to get the Gripen aircraft in the air. This includes maintenance of the aircraft, protection of the base, logistics, and operation of the airfield. The wing also trains the Air Force's only ranger unit, the air base rangers. Their task includes gathering information through reconnaissance and protecting the personnel and vehicles of the air combat forces.
