The operational area for Children, Youth, and Family in Hägersten-Älvsjö consists of the units; reception, children, children and youth, youth, foster homes, and family support. Our operational area is led by an area manager and six unit managers. Together, we are moving forward and helping to create a social service that is modern and characterized by high quality.

The foster care unit consists of three groups led by two group leaders and a coordinator. One group consists of foster care secretaries, recruiters, and family therapists, as well as a group of child secretaries and employees who provide administrative support/case management support. The third group consists of contact secretaries. We also have an ongoing initiative with enhanced support for foster homes where two family therapists work in the unit. The unit's employees have many years of experience and various competencies.

We are now looking for someone with experience in public authority work, who, together with knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues, wants to work to ensure that our children have the best possible time during their foster care placement. We offer

As support for foster care secretaries and child secretaries to conduct social work of good quality, we have developed case management support through an administrator and special on-call home case managers. With us, you have good opportunities for professional development based on the unit's competence supply plan, and you are actively involved in developing high-quality support. To ensure a good start in your new workplace, we place great importance on your introduction, and you will receive support from our competent mentors. In addition to regular case supervision with management, you will receive external supervision every four weeks in Gamla Stan.

Your role

In the role of child secretary, you will follow up on placements for children and young people aged 0-20 placed in foster homes according to SoL or LVU. This primarily occurs through home visits in the foster homes, individual conversations with the placed child, and discussions with guardians. You will have contact and collaborate with networks and other important individuals around the placed child. The work involves travel both in the local area and to other parts of Sweden. You will have contact with the children's parents and networks, foster homes, as well as schools and other professional contacts in close collaboration with foster care secretaries.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:
• a degree in social work
• at least 1 year of current experience working with public authority within children and youth
• good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing
• good knowledge of legislation within SoL and LVU

It is advantageous if you have:
• current experience working in family care
• Signs of Safety
• a valid driver's license

As a child secretary, you need to be a professional, secure, and stable person. You have the ability to build good relationships with children and their families, as well as others you collaborate with. You have good collaboration skills, are structured, and organize your work forward. You are flexible and can quickly adapt and reprioritize according to new circumstances. You are engaged and have a strong drive to do what is best for our clients and the organization, take initiative, appreciate a varied pace, and want to contribute to development and innovation.
