About the Position

At Ekebergabacken Preschool, we work to ensure that children can play and learn in a calm, harmonious, and stimulating environment; an environment in constant development. We have a co-researching approach where children and educators explore and investigate questions and phenomena together. With us, the activities should be fun, safe, and educational, where both children and guardians always feel welcome.

We focus heavily on building secure and good relationships with the children and supporting them based on their needs and interests. Here, you will, together with your colleagues, plan, implement, and reflect on the education at the preschool, working to ensure it is safe, educational, creative, and joyful for all our children.

With our unique location close to the scenic Hjälmaren and the nature reserves Ekhagen and Dreve, we have fantastic opportunities to utilize nature education and play.

Examples of Responsibilities:

• be familiar with and follow the curriculum, laws, policies, and routines
• lead, organize, plan, implement, and develop the teaching
• be responsible for documenting, following up, analyzing, and developing the education
• use methods and approaches in education based on scientific principles and proven experience
• work to ensure that each child and the group’s needs are met by applying a democratic approach
• offer a good environment for care, development, play, and learning
• be responsible for the content, design, and implementation of development talks
• work and document in the operational system

About the Workplace

Ekebergabacken Preschool is located in Ekeby-Almby, about six kilometers east of Örebro. The preschool consists of four departments with space for children aged 1-5 years. We have beautiful yards and fine nature with forests right at our doorstep that invite play and exploration in a safe, fun, and educational environment. With our cargo bikes, we can easily reach our local environment a bit further from the preschool. Our proximity to nature allows for outdoor education, which is an important part of the preschool's activities. The preschool has its own kitchen where all meals are prepared from scratch. The chef offers a nutritious and varied diet based on the recommendations of the National Food Agency in “Good Food in Preschool.” The food is prepared with organic and locally produced products. A portion of vegetarian food is also served each week.

Qualifications

As a preschool teacher with us, it is important that you are secure and engaged in your role. To achieve the preschool's goals, we expect you to be driven, take responsibility for your tasks, and have a solution-focused approach. Furthermore, you have the ability to see the whole picture and adapt to changing circumstances. In your daily work, you are good at listening and communicating, and you have a good understanding that children absorb knowledge in different ways, adapting your teaching based on the children's varying conditions. You can work in creative learning environments where you contribute ideas and thoughts. Additionally, you create good contact with both children, parents, and colleagues. You master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

Requirements

• licensed preschool teacher, or hold a qualification that entitles you to a license
• experience working as a preschool teacher

Meritorious

• experience in pedagogical documentation
• experience in language development approaches
• basic training in Guiding Interaction (ICDP)
• VFU supervisor training (7.5 credits)

Preschool teacher license must be attached to the application along with a list of qualifications or a diploma that entitles you to a license.
