About the Position

We are expanding our organization with a special education teacher for the regular programs. You will work alongside a principal and the position is primarily directed towards one or two high school programs. After the expansion, the special education team will consist of four special education teachers.

You will be part of the school's student health team and work closely with school management, teachers, and other professionals within student health. The role involves both strategic and operational work where you contribute to developing accessible learning environments, analyzing students' needs, and supporting teachers in their work with additional adaptations and special support. You are an active part of the school's preventive and health-promoting work and contribute to the development of methods that strengthen students' opportunities to achieve their goals.

In the role of special education teacher, you combine teaching experience with a special education perspective. You meet students with different needs and work to create accessible learning environments where everyone has the opportunity to develop.

You utilize your knowledge of NPF and other factors that affect students' learning in both student-centered work and in collaboration with colleagues. Through your relational competence, you contribute to the pedagogical work and the school's development towards an accessible and inclusive learning environment, with the student's best interests as the starting point.

Main Responsibilities

• Work proactively and preventively, as well as follow up and evaluate implemented measures together with those involved at the organizational, group, and individual levels
• Conduct pedagogical investigations at the organizational, group, and individual levels regarding the need for special support
• Work together with school management, the student health team, and other staff to ensure an accessible and good learning environment for students
• Be responsible for being a qualified conversation partner, guiding teachers and school staff, and initiating the right measures in collaboration with other professional groups based on students' needs
• Independently lead and support the development of pedagogical work to meet the needs of all students
• Be familiar with and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the organization
• Work and document in the existing operational systems

About the Workplace

Tullängsgymnasiet is a modern technical high school located in the south of Örebro with high attractiveness for youth. The school has a close collaboration with the business community. We offer the higher education preparatory Technology Program as well as vocational training in Construction and Civil Engineering, Data Communication, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Transport, and HVAC.

Tullängsgymnasiet has approximately 1200 students and about 200 employees. The school also has a National Gymnasium for students with deafness, hearing impairment, or language disorders, as well as an adapted high school.

Qualifications

Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with students, guardians, and other staff, and you can document in writing what the organization requires. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

Competence Requirements

• Teaching certification, or a degree that qualifies for teaching certification
• Special education degree
• Experience in teaching at the high school or middle school level

Other Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience working with students in need of special support
• Good knowledge of NPF and other factors that affect students' learning
• Experience using AI as a pedagogical tool

Teaching certification with specified qualifications must be attached to the application, or alternatively, a qualification-giving diploma that qualifies for certification.
