About the position

As a care assistant with us, you have a coordinated responsibility where you plan, implement, and follow up on the daily work. You work in a team with colleagues with different competencies and have an important task in providing our residents with the care and security they need. We work with a rehabilitative approach and person-centered care where the resident's needs, wishes, and abilities guide the goals for rehabilitation.

You belong to a fixed work group during evening shifts with responsibility for one department, and during night work, collaboration extends across departmental boundaries with a shared responsibility for the entire residence. You work some evenings to be more involved in the residents' waking routines and to foster a better sense of community with the entire workgroup.

For us, quality and good care are important, and as an employee with us, you are expected to contribute and participate in our development work. Together, we are responsible for ensuring that the work maintains good quality and that we follow the guidelines and decisions that come with the assignment.

Examples of tasks:

  • provide service and personal care based on the resident's individual needs and goals
  • perform medical, rehabilitative, and habilitative tasks as well as medication management based on delegation
  • collaborate with occupational therapists and nurses based on the resident's needs
  • plan and develop the work independently and together with the workgroup
  • establish and follow goal plans, routine descriptions, and action plans together with the resident
  • have knowledge of and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the organization
  • document regularly in the organization's documentation system and review existing documentation

About the workplace

Skebäcksgården is a care and nursing home beautifully located next to Wadköping and Stadsparken in Öster, Örebro. The entire residence is on ground level and the unit consists of a total of 59 places distributed across five departments, of which three departments focus on somatic care, one department for short-term care, and one department for respite care. The beautiful outdoor environment creates conditions for good outdoor activities.

The area of care and nursing is part of the Social Administration. The operations include care and nursing, preventive activities, authority exercise within the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Nursing, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As a care assistant with us, you are a confident and stable person. You have the ability to meet residents in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You see it as a given to take responsibility for your tasks. Furthermore, you collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You have a positive view of people with great respect for each individual's needs. Additionally, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes.

You master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with residents and other staff, as well as document what the organization requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation in the operational system, good computer skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • proof of protected professional title, or covered by the transitional regulations (permanently employed care assistant as of July 1, 2023)

Meritorious:

  • experience of work in care and nursing
  • experience of night work in care and nursing
  • experience of working in documentation and operational systems Lifecare and Medvind

Scope and start date

Employment form: permanent employment

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: July 1 or by agreement

Number of positions: 1

Working hours: scheduled evening/night and every other weekend

Other information

As of July 1, 2023, care assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a care assistant. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care aide. However, if you had a permanent position as a care assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
