Your new job

You will work in a health-promoting, preventive, and remedial capacity based on the agreed job description for your profession. Through interdisciplinary collaboration in the EHT, we support students' development towards educational goals and contribute to creating accessible learning environments.

Your role as a school nurse at Barnarpsskolan offers you unique advantages through a well-developed student-centered preventive and health-promoting approach focused on school attendance and values through what we call the "Feel Good Wheel." This occurs in good collaboration with the student health team, which consists of special educators, special teachers, and school counselors, as well as school management.

Through the education administration, you will participate in a joint network, and you will also receive continuous supervision. In addition, close collaboration with other school nurses regarding vaccinations, for example, is a given.

Examples of tasks:

• The school nurse's preventive and health-promoting mission is based on the school's needs but also on guidelines in the management system for the medical services of student health.
• Be responsible for and plan the medical services of student health in collaboration with the school doctor and school management.
• Conduct health visits and health conversations according to national guidelines, identifying needs for support and interventions.
• Collaborate with EHT, school staff, guardians, and external actors, based on your nursing competence, to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning.
• Follow up and analyze health surveys and contribute with data at the school and class level in the systematic quality work.
• Be responsible for and monitor school attendance in collaboration with the school counselor and teachers.
• Be responsible for vaccinations according to the Swedish vaccination program.
• Prepare for and participate in school doctor visits and follow up on interventions.
• Inform and educate about healthy lifestyle habits at the individual, group, and school levels.
• Support the educational work with nursing and medical competence.
• Participate in the school's value-based work and crisis group at the principal's request.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, supervise VFU students, and mentor new colleagues.

Barnarpsskolan is a safe and friendly school unit ten minutes south of Jönköping. The school has about 400 students and 50 staff members. Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist training as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse. Experience working as a school nurse or in health promotion with children and youth is an advantage. We would also like you to have experience with documentation in data journals, preferably Prorenata, as well as in motivational interviewing. To work as a school nurse, you need to be able to work independently, be proactive, and organized.
