X-ray Department is Hiring a Nursing Assistant

The X-ray department is part of the area of diagnostic imaging and functional medicine, and we work with diagnostic radiology in suitable facilities equipped with modern technology. Here, conventional X-ray examinations such as skeleton and lungs, cross-sectional diagnostics with two CT scanners and two MRI machines, fluoroscopy/intervention, and ultrasound examinations are performed. People of all ages come to the X-ray department. Approximately 150-200 individuals undergo some form of diagnostic examination each day. Annually, we perform about 45,000 different examinations, of which approximately 50 percent are urgent examinations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant in the X-ray department, you will work with many different tasks within diagnostic radiology. The position may include evenings, nights, and weekends if required by the operation. During evenings/nights/weekends, one nursing assistant and one radiology nurse work together to manage the department's operations.

As a nursing assistant with us, you will:

• assist doctors and radiology nurses during various examinations
• be responsible for the daily operations of ultrasound together with a doctor
• after a certain period in the position, learn scheduling and call center (teleQ).

In the role of nursing assistant, you should:

• be a trained nursing assistant - Attach a certificate with your application
• have very good computer skills.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have prior experience working in radiology.

Information about the title Nursing Assistant

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than nursing assistant. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted.
