Assistant Nurse to Central Operation

The area of anesthesia includes the units of outpatient surgery, operation, UVA, intensive care, and sterilization central. We perform both planned and emergency measures in anesthesia and surgical care as well as intensive care around the clock. Together, we provide service to all operations at Hudiksvall Hospital.

We are now looking for two assistant nurses for the central operation starting in the autumn of 2026.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of assistant nurse in the central operation is responsible, challenging, and sometimes demanding but above all fun and meaningful. After completing the introduction, you will work three shifts. Under special circumstances, all employees may need to work for a certain period in other units within the area of anesthesia in Hudiksvall.

• preparation of the operating room before and dismantling after surgery
• assisting anesthetists and surgical nurses during operations
• preparing and handling technical equipment during surgery
• assisting staff in the operating room with materials.

In the role of assistant nurse, you should:

• be a trained assistant nurse
• have language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale, which can also mean a passing grade in Swedish 3 or a passing grade in Swedish as a second language 3, or a passing result in a course in Swedish for non-Nordic students equivalent to 60 credits.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have professional experience from an operating department.

Information about the title assistant nurse

As of July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse in healthcare and social services. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than assistant nurse. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted.
