Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for you who want to work extra as a hourly paid substitute in our operations. We offer you a flexible and varied job, take the chance to become part of the School Administration's Substitute Bank.

As a teacher substitute, you will replace regular staff as needed. The tasks mainly consist of independent teaching for one or more classes based on an established plan, which may be followed by follow-up work. You work to reach each student and strengthen them in both knowledge development and personal growth.

As a student assistant, your tasks will mainly consist of working with a student or a group of children during their school day during lessons, breaks, or if excursions occur. You work closely with the school's teachers where the work takes place in both classrooms and after-school centers.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position of teacher substitute, it is a requirement that you have an ongoing or completed university education, preferably in education. We would like you who are studying to become a teacher to combine your studies with work in the Substitute Bank. It is an advantage if you have any previous experience working with children or youth and if you have experience working as a teacher.

To be considered for the position of student assistant, it is a requirement that you have a completed and approved high school education, preferably in the child and youth program or equivalent work experience. It is a requirement that you have previous experience working with children or youth, and it is advantageous if you have more than two years of experience. If you have further education such as a childcare worker or student assistant, we see that as an advantage. We also consider it advantageous if you have experience working with children with special needs.

For those who match the qualifications, a personality test will be used as part of the selection process. The test will be sent out after the application deadline and must be completed within three days. The test results will be part of the overall assessment of you as a candidate.

You who apply also have a genuine interest in people! You are attentive and have an easy time collaborating and have a service-oriented approach. Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to meet new environments and people are prerequisites for you to thrive and succeed in the assignment.

To perform the assignment, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

A basic requirement for working in educational activities is a valid extract from the police criminal record. See the link below under "other information" for where to request the extract. You must be able to work at least four full days of eight hours or six half days of four hours per month to be considered as a substitute through the Substitute Bank.

• Attach your digital criminal record in PDF format or a photo of a valid extract from the criminal record according to the Education Act where all information is visible. We prefer that the extract is no more than 6 months old. If the extract is older than 1 year, it is not valid.
• In the application, you should include 2 references from different workplaces (only name, position, and email address). The reference must be a manager or coordinator or internship supervisor. The email address of your reference should be linked to the workplace. If you have previously been employed by the City of Malmö, a reference from there is mandatory.
